Girls Water Polo earns first victory

Good offense and defense were the perfect combination for the Oceanside varsity girls water polo team as they defeated San Marcos, 7-4, Tuesday night at Palomar College. Bella Nance led the Pirates (1-1 overall) with three goals, while Alia Franczyk added a pair of goals. Goalie Morgan Serafin made 13 saves to lead the defense.

Hansen dominates at Carlsbad Invitational

Oceanside High’s Shane Hanson started where he left off in the first tournament of his senior year. Hansen, who qualified for the state tournament last year, dominated in the 198-pound weight class tn winning the Carlsbad Invitational. Freshman Gavan Love, competing in his first varsity tourney, took sixth place.
