Oceanside High School has entered into a long-term agreement with HUDL that will enable the school to broadcast events for the 2021 seasons.
With the generous donations of the OHS Athletic Booster Club and ASB, the Pirates have the ability to go live with all athletic events in the stadium and gymnasium. HUDL provides video review and performance analysis tools for sports teams and athletes at every level. Now, the school will have the opportunity to broadcast games via the internet.
“This is a great opportunity for future Pirates and alumni to be able to watch our teams play,” said Athletic Director Brad Hollingsworth. “With the uncertainty of fans in the stands because of COVID-19 during the 2021 season, we believe that this will provide a link and enable Pirates far and wide to see us perform.”
A camera will be mounted in the gym for basketball, wrestling, and volleyball matches. Details of how to watch the games will be coming out in the next month or so. For stadium events, like track and field, football, and soccer, HUDL will provide a platform for us to broadcast the games via the internet as well. The following season will see a camera placed in the stadium and be broadcast via HUDL.
“We are hoping to sell advertising and really push our brand out there,” Hollingsworth said. “This puts at the top of list when it comes to being able to give people an opportunity to see our campus and athletes when they don’t have the chance to get to the events in person.”
