Spring football is on the horizon at Oceanside High school for 10th through 12th graders.
The Pirates begin workouts on Monday, May 20 and conclude with the annual Green-and-White Game and Fanfest from 4 to 8:15 p.m. Friday, June 7.
Also, Oceanside released its 2019 football schedule with hopes of an Avocado League East title and a 16th CIF Championship.
Fall practice will begin on July 30 and Oceanside will host Vista in its preseason scrimmage on Friday, Aug. 16. JV and Frosh will start at 4:30 p.m. with the varsity at 6 p.m.
Parent Night will highlight the season opener against San Clemente at 7 p.m., Friday, Aug. 23. Junior Varsity will play at 5 p.m. Aug. 22 against the Tritons, while the frosh will travel on the same day to San Clemente with kickoff at 5 p.m. The Pirates finish August with a game at Westview on Friday, Aug. 30. Kickoff is at 7 p.m., while the JV begins at 4:30 p.m. The frosh host the Wolverines on Thursday, Aug. 29 at 5 p.m.
September begins with Oceanside at San Marcos on Sept. 6, followed by a bye week on Sept. 13. Youth night highlights the game against La Costa Canyon (Sept. 20), and the Pirates travel to Olympian on Sept. 27.
October brings the Pirates to Mission Hills on Oct. 4, followed by a home game against Carlsbad (Oct. 11) . Homecoming celebrations will be in the stadium when the Pirates host Rancho Buena Vista on Oct. 18. Oceanside travels to Torrey Pines (Oct. 25), then the Pirates host crosstown-rival El Camino (Nov. 1) to finish the regular season.
Note, the freshmen team plays on Thursday, while the JV team plays before the varsity at 4:30 p.m.
