Anthony Nathan led the boys track team in the sprints as the Pirates defeated San Dieguito Academy, 83-57, in an Avocado League East dual meet. Nathan won the 100 and 200 and ran a leg in the winning 4 X 100 relay.
Last Saturday, Oceanside hosted 28 teams in the 8th Annual Willie Banks Invitational with teams from all over Southern California. The team brought home 30 medals as individuals, 15 were gold. The girls placed seventh and were led by Kalani Hardyway with a personal best in the 100 meters 912.84) and Anabel Ojeda’s silver medal in the 3000 meters in 11:17.
The Boys team took third overall. Kaylen Austin had a season-best effort in the 300 hurdles (42.53) and ran well on the winning 4 x 400 relay team. Saturday, Oceanside looks to defend the team title at the Southland Invitational at Hemet High School.
