The Oceanside High School boys and girls track teams struck gold at the University City Track Classic last Saturday.
Kalani Hardyway, who won three events (100, long and triple jump) against Sage Creek Thursday, set a school record in the long jump (19-0 3/4) which currently ranks her fourth in the state. Sophomore Anthony Nathan brought home three gold medals with wins in the 100 (11.45), 200 (22.99) and 4 x 200 relay. In all, the Pirates’ boys and girls teams won 26 gold meals and combined for 16 silver and bronze medals.
Against Sage Creek, the boys team won 75-65 with Chris Hunter leading the way with a personal best in the shot put (47-9) and discus (147-9). The Pirates clinched the dual meet with a win in the 4 X 400 relay.
